Start your journey
By car
From San Diego & the south
Take I-15 North toward Temecula. Near Escondido, use the 9th Avenue or
Centre City Parkway exit and follow signs toward downtown. Turn onto
South Escondido Boulevard and continue south—we are on the east side of the street.
From San Diego International Airport (SAN)
From the airport, follow signs to the freeway, then get on I-15 North toward Escondido.
Most people use CA-163 North or I-805 North to reach I-15.
Take I-15 North to Escondido, exit at 9th Avenue or
Centre City Parkway, then go south on South Escondido Boulevard to
2336. About 30–45 minutes in light traffic (longer at rush hour).
From Riverside & the north
Take I-15 South into Escondido. Exit toward 9th Avenue or
Centre City Parkway, then head south on South Escondido Boulevard to
2336.
From Orange County & Los Angeles
Take I-5 North to CA-78 East toward Escondido, or connect to
I-15 North and follow the San Diego directions above. Allow extra time during coastal
and weekend traffic.
From Ramona & the east
Take SR-78 West into Escondido. Exit toward South Escondido Boulevard or Centre City
Parkway and continue south to the motel.
By trolley
From San Diego International Airport (SAN)
The airport is not on the Sprinter line, so you connect through downtown North County. Take the
MTS 992 bus (or airport shuttle to transit) to Old Town Transit Center or
Santa Fe Depot. Board the COASTER commuter train north to
Oceanside, then transfer to the NCTD Sprinter toward
Escondido Transit Center. From there, take a Breeze bus along South
Escondido Boulevard if the schedule fits, or use a taxi or rideshare for the short trip south to the motel.
Check current MTS and
NCTD timetables—evening and Sunday service is more
limited, and total travel time is often 2 hours or more with waits.
NCTD Sprinter (light rail)
The Sprinter runs between Oceanside and Escondido. Get off at
Escondido Transit Center (also called the Escondido Sprinter station). From there, take a
Breeze bus that serves South Escondido Boulevard, or a short taxi or rideshare south to
2336 S. Escondido Blvd.
From the coast (Coaster + Sprinter)
Take the Coaster to Oceanside, transfer to the Sprinter toward
Escondido, and exit at Escondido Transit Center. Plan connections on NCTD’s schedule—weekend and evening
service is more limited.
Local buses
North County Breeze routes connect the transit center with major corridors. Check the
current map for the line that best serves South Escondido Boulevard near your arrival time.
